Seasons Greetings This is the first newsletter of the season with lots of detail!!

 Seasons Greetings!

The Fall Camps at Mont Ste Anne provided a great opportunity for some of our members to get on snow early. We are super excited about the start of ski season at home and the early opening of Wentworth.

About Newsletters

This is the first weekly newsletter of the season.  To avoid ‘death by e-mail’ WSRC endeavours to collate all pertinent info into one weekly newsletter and send via e-mail prior to each weekend.  We highly recommend you read these newsletters to keep informed about what is happening.  You can scan the section headings for what is relevant to you and what is not.  If you have any suggestions for improvement or any questions, please feel free to e-mail admin@wentworthracing.com  Recipient e-mail addresses are those entered at the time of registration.  If you would like this e-mail address revised, please let us know!

For your reference, these newsletters can also be found on the website www.wentworthracing.com under the menu heading “Newsletters”.

SECTION 2 – OVER THE HOLIDAYS

From coaching staff…
Hi All,
I know it is a very hectic time of year... Christmas and NY Camps present an opportunity that you should be taken advantage of…

- Wentworth is open and given the forecast we are going to have prime snow conditions for getting back on snow and building skills.
- Camps offer an exponentially better environment for developing and patterning skills because we get 5 days in a row on snow rather than 1 or 2 days a weekend.
- These camps are an AMAZING deal and an opportunity for high mileage with no stress of missing school.
- There are 10 days of camps offered over the break...that is equivalent to 5 WEEKS worth of regular programming. In a 12-week program that is a 42% increase in time on snow for 2-day athletes.
- The Poley Race is the following weekend and any athlete with less than 4-5 days training on snow will not be able to attend for safety reasons.
- Camps are a fantastic team-building opportunity for coaches and athletes,

If you have prior commitments, we of course understand, but if you have no plans and this has simply made its way to the back burner please fire it back up and get in touch with the club and get your kids signed up! We want your young athletes to have the most fun and successful winter possible.  If you have any questions do not hesitate to reach out.

Merry Christmas and hope to see you and your athletes at the hill over the break!”

The signup genius link is all set (you can find this in the “Parent Page” drop down under “Volunteer” or follow this link http://www.signupgenius.com/go/409044aa4a728a2f49-volunteers).
We have an early race this year, Poley Mountain on January 11th and 12th for the u10 and up racers.  The race organizers have requested 6 volunteers from each race team to work as gate judges (though they are usually flexible if you want to volunteer in another capacity).
Please sign up using the above link or email me via registrar@wentworthracing.com.
Looking forward to seeing everyone on the hill this year!!"
