2023/2024 WSRC Farlange Christmas Camp

For U12 & Senior Team athletes who have had on-snow training already in the 23/24 ski season. Running from December 28-31st this is sure to be an action packed training camp. Why Mont Farlagne? Probability of snow total amounts large enough to set gates at our home hill, Ski Wentworth, during December is low. We have secured training lanes at Mont Farlagne to give a head start to those athletes ready for the challenge.

2024 Speed Camp at MSA

Speed Camp is a four-day intro to speed / high intensity training opportunity for U14/16/18 athletes.

This four-day camp will be spent on our own netted SPEED track on the Belanger trail at MSA working through drill sets as well as partial and full course sets with timing. The high-speed quad chairlift on the backside of MSA allows for an incredible number of laps for our athletes = lots of time-on-task. We will have to pace the athletes!

This speed camp will satisfy the criteria of any athletes that need speed training to safely race any SG racing events as well as for provincial U14 and U16 Teams.

Speed training is its own animal and the coaching staff who will working on this camp have been providing coaching at speed camps for more than 50 years combined. There are specific and strategic ways to mitigate risk when skiing at speeds over 50km/hour and the staff will work with the athletes to instill the proper instincts while skiing at high speeds. Coaches will also make recommendations as to whether athletes have the skill sets necessary to race at speed. If an athlete does not have the skill set necessary, they wll be advised to do more training before racing an SG event - not doing do would effectively put the athlete in harm's way. Typically, by the end of a camp like this, athletes are ready to race effectively and safely on a speed track.
