Please take a moment to review the update below.

Kick-Off Club Social Regardless of Weather!

Fundraising Update

50/50 Raffle Box - Fundraising is an important way for us to manage the costs of running our WSRC program. So if you haven’t already, check out our RaffleBox fundraiser. This year we’ve added the option to choose the athlete your ticket purchase will be in support of. If you choose your athlete from the drop-down menu and proceed to the checkout page, you can then share the link to that page with your contacts and they will be directed to your athletes page to purchase tickets.

Every month the top fundraising athletes will win a prize. Our jackpot has already passed the $1000 mark and counting. This week, the top three fundraisers this week are:

  1. Kayden Bradley

  2. Clark Miller

  3. Marcos Lundrigan

Volunteers Still Needed for Two of Our Most Important Events of the Year

Team Atlantic Cup - Friday, January 27th for U14 and up

The first big race of the year hosted at Wentworth, and a critical race for all those who wish to qualify for the Canada Games, we are seeking volunteers for the following roles outlined below. Please contact Katie Hilton (katielhilton@me.com) if you are able to support this event, or if you require more information on volunteering opportunities.

Key Volunteer Roles Remaining:

  • Chief of Gates - Offers guidance to Gate Judges and is the key point of contact for Gate Judge volunteers and liaison with the Chief of Race. Should have some experience Judging Gates.

  • Gate Judge - Enjoy one of the best views of the race as you stand along the side of the course and ensure athletes successfully pass through the gates. Training can be provided on the day of the event if you do not have previous experience.

(Read more about Gate Judging volunteer roles here)

  • Course Crew - If you are a proficient skier, training can be provided on the day. You will be required to help “side-slip” the course and other basic maintenance to ensure the course is in good condition throughout the race.

  • Hand Timing - Back up hand timing ensures we have times for athletes in the case of a technical issue. Training can be provided on the day if you have no previous experience.

  • Start Referee - Will require a volunteer who has completed the Level 2 Officials training course to support this role.

Slingshot Race - Sunday, February 5th for U10 / U12 Athletes

A highlight for young athletes and a great opportunity for parents to gain experience supporting the running of a race in a low pressure environment. Please contact Craig Bradley at kaymatrentals@gmail.com if you are able to support any of these roles.

Key Volunteer Roles Remaining:

  • Course Crew - If you are a proficient skier, training can be provided on the day. You will be required to help “side-slip” the course and other basic maintenance to ensure the course is in good condition throughout the race.
