Update: Volunteers Needed, Ad Hoc Training Opportunities, Fundraising & Swag

Hello WSRC families, 

We have a few helpful updates to plan your weekend and your ski season: 

Race Opportunities on the Horizon:
Volunteers Desperately Needed to Ensure Races Run as Planned

It takes a village to raise a kid and an army to run a race. Based on the current restrictions, WSRC plans to host FIVE separate events in the next four weeks to make up for lost time earlier in the season.

We ask that every parent take a moment to review the opportunities below and reach out to organizers to express your interest. 

Never volunteered at a race before? No problem. There has never been a better time to learn. 

Learn to Gate Judge: Join Us @ 10AM on Saturday or Sunday this Weekend!
Watch athletes race from - arguably - the best vantage point on the hill! In the middle of the action! Get a glimpse into the world of officiating with a quick tutorial to help you prepare for upcoming competitions. The senior athletes will be running gates and it will give an excellent opportunity to learn and ask questions.
Look for Duncan Gillis near the Timing Hut by the T-Bar at 10AM.

• Sun., Mar 6th – Slingshot – Wentworth - U10 and U12 
• Fri., Mar 11th – Byrne Memorial/ Scaravelli Cup – Wentworth - U12 & U14 

Other Volunteer Opportunities?
Volunteers are needed for planning, setup and day of each race. Examples of volunteer roles include but are not limited to:  

• Race setup and teardown
• Athlete Wrangling
• Race secretary 
• Swag organization 
• Course helpers
• Start Ref and Starter
• Food planning 
• Gate judging

If you are available, please let your Parent Rep know you’ll be able to help ensure our races are a success by volunteering.
