Weekend Prep: Dave Wilson Memorial Race, March Break Camps, Clothing Order Deadline

There’s a lot to look forward to in the weeks ahead. 

Introducing the 2021 Dave Wilson Memorial (U14+) Race Weekend

Training Day: Thursday, Feb. 18th
Races Friday February 19 and Saturday, Feb. 20
Registration deadline: Sunday, Feb. 14, 6PM

(Due to COVID-19, late registration will not be accepted)

Volunteers are needed for food and to operate the race.

This year’s race, especially for Nova Scotian athletes, has been named in honour of the late Dave Wilson who passed away last year. For many years, Dave joined his father and fellow ski enthusiasts making the trek to Wentworth, helping blaze trails and forge a Nova Scotia ski community. He established Dave Wilson’s Ski Shop. Later as owner of Ski Wentworth, he transformed the ski area from a club to an outdoor enterprise. He skied at Wentworth until age 86 and we are thankful for the legacy that he helped build. 

U10 Ad Hoc Training Rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb.16th

Available to all second year U10 athletes. 
Deadline for registration: Saturday, Feb. 13th. Register to attend

March Break Ski Practice

We are excited to offer training opportunities coinciding with school breaks.

Athletes can choose attend: 

• March 8,9,10 Practice (Partial Week) and / or

• March 15-19 Practice (Full Week)

The registration deadline is Sunday, Feb. 28th.

Put the Fun in Fundraising with the 12 Hours of Wentworth Ski-a-thon

Don’t Forget to Mask Up Before You Line Up

Thank you to all of our athletes and families who have been following the health protocols. It’s encouraging to see low COVID-19 numbers in the province and the loosening of restrictions. To ensure we can continue to enjoy our relative freedom it is important to wear masks any time when you are not skiing. This includes the lift line. 

It may be easy to forget to pull your mask up when you’ve had a fantastic run and can’t wait for another. Please take a moment to reposition your mask before you join the line.
