Message From the President....A COVID Update (and some other stuff)

To all parents;
 
I hope everyone has enjoyed a wonderful summer!  Your board of directors has been working diligently to ensure that WSRC is in the best position to offer its programs this coming season.  We will be working in collaboration with Wentworth Ski Hill, Ski NS, NS ski clubs, and all of you to ensure we can provide a safe, healthy, and positive experience for your athletes.  The operational plan and details of how programs will be run is still uncertain as the environment is continuously evolving.  To support our club, we have created a COVID-19 working committee with representation from our coaching staff, board, Ski Wentworth, Ski Patrol, and Health care.  We have enabled this committee to explore and consider all implications of COVID-19 on our program, events, athletes and club. 
 
As you know registration is now open and we are very encouraged by the early enrollment and interest in our program.  It certainly signals your love of skiing and confidence in WSRC.  While it is our every intention to deliver all programs as we have done in the past, the reality is that we may have to review elements of our programing to ensure alignment with provincial health and safety guidelines in addition to requirements set forth by Alpine Canada and our local PSO.  Our commitment to all families is that we will aim to provide complete transparency and open communication throughout this process to ensure you are equipped and understand any changes made. 
 
Should our programing be disrupted in any capacity as a result of COVID-19 restrictions our commitment to our athletes and families the following COVID-19 Refund Guarantee for 2020/21:  If we are forced to close at any time during the 2020/21 season due to government restrictions related to COVID-19, we will offer a pro-rated refund or pro-rated credit towards the 2021-22 season, based on the percentage of the season lost.  Refunds for any other reason are subject to the regular refund policy which can be found under "about us" and "policies" on the website.
We certainly appreciate that you all want a level of certainty about this year’s ski season as you make important decisions about accommodations, equipment, and vacation.  We will do our best to minimize disruption and surprises to any parent member and their athletes.
