Brunner Wrap-Up

2020-02-27

Brunner Wrap-Up from the WSRC Program Coordinator and from the WSRC VOlunteer Coordinator

From WSRC Program Coordinator, Gregor Byrne....

THANKS to the WSRC !!!!!

What a great week of Racing and Training !

Thank You needs to be said !

Our Club Volunteers were OUTSTANDING !!

We had a great Race Crew that managed to run a terrific race despite some adversity - Cool heads prevailed and all was done in a timely fashion within the rules and was fair for all racers involved in the Race. That's our main mandate and the volunteers made it happen! From the food in the mornings and at lunch to the way that the office ran with our outstanding Race  Secretaries Kim and Tara  - the Race volunteer group from the WSRC deserves a pat on the back for a job Well Done !

Thanks to our Coaching staff who went above and beyond coaching your athletes to some tremendous success over the course of the two-day camp and three days of racing.

Our WSRC Athletes trained and raced well. They were focused squarely on process and were learning and improving every single run down the track. Congrats to every single athlete for races well run and the good sportsmanship that was shown by all.

As the Program Coordinator for the WSRC I was so Proud to be a part of this club that works SO hard and is so passionate about the Sport of Alpine Ski Racing !

See you next weekend when we all get to be together again enjoying each other and the sport that we all love so much !!

Cheers. . . . .Gregor

From Duncan Gillis, WSRC Volunteer Coordinator...

WOW what a weekend, Brunner Race has come and gone and we survived.  It truly takes an army to run a race.  Great job by all involved as once again we proved that WSRC can put on a first class race weekend.

To the volunteers in the official positions thank you, your tireless efforts this weekend were amazing: Murray, Brian, Dave, & Leslie - our four leaders that show up even though they do not have athletes in our program.

Our starter/finish/timing and tabulator crew; Matt, Blair, Kate, Dave, Greg, Tim and Sally.  Thank you; there were some challenges but you all rose to the occasion and conquered them.

To Kim and Tara who organized and planned from the grand room of the secretary .... a massive thank you.

Our hand timers/course crew/gate judges/wranglers bosses:  Rob, Brian and Bruce and the merry crew of Janin, Susan, Lindsay, Shauna, Robin, Jeff, Andrew, Nick, Dave, Mike, Peter, Roger, James, Mike, Angela ... THANK YOU.

To the two tireless and accurate scribes Michelle and Krista thank you.

Kate Hilton rocked the mic keeping the crowd entertained and informed ... as always.

Our bib collectors, whom by the way did not miss one:  Lee, Margaret, Susie ... Thank you.

Janice everyone appreciated all your efforts with organizing, heating and prepping the food (also thank you to Lee, Sarah and Karen and Tanya for your assistance with this).

Also on the note of food, thank you to everyone for your generous food donations; our volunteers were very well fed and quite satisfied from all the comments I heard.

Finally our race doctor who was thankfully quite bored all weekend; thanks Bruce.

If I have forgotten anyone I apologize but know that we are grateful for your efforts.

Until the next race ... see everyone on the slopes.

Duncan
