Two-time golden ladle champion Kate Lovett is back with her wiley ways and her intimidation tactics….and it would seem that all the men are in hiding, too afraid to fall victim to the power of Kate’s Chilli …

This year, we have an all female line-up in the 2020 Great Chilli Cook-Off Contenders.  This event was originally conceived by guys for guys, but Kate’s got them running scared….(it could have been her whatsapp videos the morning of last year’s cook-off that did it….she was definitely channeling the Soprano’s)

So without further ado, introducing our feisty females and their prodigious pots…..

Challenger #1……..Lynn O’Sullivan….using braising techniques usually reserved for Irish Stew.  O’Sullivan, while the third most common surname in Ireland, her chilli is anything but common. It is a long way to Tipperary, but you don’t have to go that far to try this chilli.  Lynn is counting on some luck of the Irish when the votes are counted.

Challenger #2……Christina Healy….mother of photo of the week icon cow bell baby, while managing 3 kids and an injured hubby, will be wielding her ladle with skill and talent that few can master.  Christina has created a scrumptious chilli concoction featuring fresh ingredients and hand picked oregano grown on her window sill in Wentworth Valley which has won numerous horticultural awards and has never before been used in chilli.

Challenger #3…..Sarah Karountzos….Sarah’s first question was,,,only 1 crock pot?….Sarah is wedded into Greek culture where quantity and quality of food are equally prized.  Sarah’s repertoire of stick-to-your-ribs recipes is vast and includes her famous chilli.  This chilli will feature a secret ingredient passed down through generations of ladle wielding relatives. Her boys love it and so will you!!

Challenger # 4 …Karen Dwyer…back to try to beat Kate for a 3rd year in a row, won’t take no for an answer.  Tired of having her classic chilli recipe lose the popular vote (I was robbed!), this year this vegetarian is being true to herself with her low carbon footprint meatless chilli that won over many international students in New Zealand in ’98 when y’all were just kids (!)

So….don’t be shy, be sure to come on over to the Clubhouse between 4:30 and 6pm this Sunday to try some delicious homemade chilli and cast your ballot to vote for the Winner of the 2020 Great Chilli Cook-off and recipient of the Golden Ladle Trophy.

Chilli is is free to Twelve Hours of Wentworth participants and $10 for everyone else.

PS- You can still enter your chilli, if you are up to the challenge!!
