Was it not just yesterday that we threw on our ski boots in late November at MSA ?

Time really does fly when you are having FUN ! The 2018/19 season is now in the books - What a great season it was !

Beginning with our Fall Camps at Mont Ste Anne in December to our Club Championship race on Saturday WSRC Racers of all ages  - were up for the Challenge and the FUN !

Working with our stellar coaching staff and our Board of Directors we moved ahead once again with our Club philosophy of Athletes becoming better every day. Our athletes at all age levels are starting to believe and understand that focus and effort really matter when trying to develop and perfect new skills - That doing your absolute best on Race Day is the goal. . . .Standing on the podium sometimes is a by-product of that accomplishment.

Our WSRC athletes participated in Camps and races both locally and nationally over the course of the season. We raced at all levels from U6 right on up to FIS events. We skied / trained in the Sun / Snow / Wind & Rain. . .We laughed and cried . . . .We dreamed and schemed. . . We made a HOME out of our NEW Race Shack. . . . We were all sad when the season was over . . .For most it is a hiatus from Ski Life for the Summer . . . .For some others they have graduated from our program after 12 years and will be moving on to University and further education. . . .That they will keep skiing is our wish for them. . . If we have done our jobs well  - when its cold and snowy - skiing should never be far from their thoughts. . . . .

There is still a Race in Amqui this coming weekend as well as a 6-day Spring Camp in Mont Ste Anne from April 8th to 14th. That will end our on-snow skiing for the season.

As you put away your ski gear for the season your Program Director and the Board will be going into planning mode for the 2019 / 20 season!!

Some things for all of you to consider at this time of year are things like :

1. Putting away ski gear carefully and properly so that it is ready to use next season when you need it.

2. Gear needs for next season - Now is the time to order new skis for next winter.

3. What Summer Sports will you be involved in / Playing

4. Mental training education and practice over the Summer

5. Summer Ski Training Camps

6. Summer Dryland Programs

7. Planning for Fall Training Camps

We will be reviewing what went well in our Program over the season as well as what needs tweaking so that we can incorporate these wants / needs into our Program for next Season.

To assist with this, Please take a few minutes and complete our survey

Our Fall Camp schedule will be published within the next few weeks so that folks can get pre-registered and can make bookings so that they will not be disappointed by a lack of available condo space.

If there is an appetite for on-snow Summer Training Mike Byrne is putting together  a Summer Training Camp  ( U14 up) at Mount Hood in Oregon. If anyone is interested please contact Gregor Byrne for more information.

Thanks for being part of our Club and enjoying this season with us !

Enjoy the Spring and Summer ! Give it your best enjoying your summer friends and sports. . . . Miss skiing and ski friends. . . . . See you in the Fall !!

Cheers. . . . .
