1 – Season Update:
· We’ve had a great March Break Camp with some athletes getting in the spirit of the theme days hosted by Ski Wentworth.
· There are two weekends remaining in the regular season program.
· This weekend March 18 & 19 and next weekend March 25 & 26.
2 – Coaching Update:
· Congratulations to Olivia Mason who has completed her evaluation and is now a certified Entry Level CSCF Coach.
· This past weekend ten participants took part in the EL coach course over two days.
· Assistant Coaches Ali Harmon and Grace Myers completed their Entry Level coach training.
· Athletes Lindsay Myles, Georgia Jones, Cami Jones and Parent Ben Lovett were also successful in completing their Entry Level training.
· “Great to see so many racers consider sharing their love of ski racing through coaching! A testament to the positive coaching and race experience that they enjoyed!” (quote by a WSRC Parent)
3 - Athlete Evan Ross competed in FIS Racing events in the Collingwood region in Ontario this week. Evan raced 6 events over the past week finishing all events. His best scores were 89 in SL and 75 in GS - great scores resulting from hard work!
4 – CanAms are taking place this coming week. The top 10 athletes in Atlantic Canada are selected to these teams.
For U16’s in Attitash, NH WSRC athletes Ian Keefe, Noah Hann, Lauren Stienburg and Emily Todd will be attending.
For U14’s at Tremblant WSRC athletes Grant Keefe and Callum Myers will be attending. These events are for the top racers in each Age group from Eastern North America.
4 – Club Championships are Saturday, March 25th – EVERYONE IS WELCOME – including Sunday-only athletes who are encouraged to come as well.
5 – End of Season Social Event – All Welcome:
· The Club will be holding its end of season Après-Ski banquet Saturday, March 25, 2017, from 4-6 pm at the Wentworth Rec. Centre (13752 Hwy 4 – about 4km past ski hill).
· Athletes and families come and enjoy fun awards, club championship awards, raffle draw, slide show and lots of après ski munchies. We will be asking you to send your 3-4 favorite pictures from the season to help our slide show coordinator, Mark Oakley: mark.oakley78@yahoo.ca
· The cover charge is 1 appetizer per family!! No chips or party-mix please – that will be provided. Power supply for crock pots is available.
· Cash bar only for kids drinks and alcoholic beverages.
6 – March 26th Fun Day for U10 & U12
· Last day of programming and the U10’s & U12’s will be having relay races, a scavenger hunt, speed competition & other fun activities followed by prize awards at Duckie’s – so we may go a bit later than 2:30pm.
7 – Amqui U14&U16 Race April 8/9 is open for registration on the website. Please register by April 1.
8 - Team Wear Karbon Order is posted as a newsletter on the website and orders are due to Leslie Henderson by March 25th.
