WENTWORTH SKI RACING CLUB

The Wentworth Ski Racing Club (WSRC) is a family-friendly ski club with a home at Ski Wentworth in Cumberland County, Nova Scotia.   The club hopes to foster in our youth a love of skiing and the sport of ski racing through qualified coaching and teaching. WSRC provides participants age six and up with an opportunity to improve their basic skill by working their way through a structured program. The club operates five programs:

K2 Race Team

 J1 & J2  Race Team

FIS Program

• University Racing

All participants entering the programs must have basic skills and be able to ride the chair lift. A valid lift pass for Wentworth is required for each day. New participants will be assessed to ensure they are placed in the appropriate level. This generally takes place on the first day of classes. Programs run each weekend for 9 weekends starting in early January. All Programs “Weather Permitting.” If Wentworth is open, so are we!"

The Coaches:
All coaches in the WSRC are certified through participation in the Canadian Ski Coaches Federation (CSCF) courses and pre-season seminars. Where at all possible, a ratio of athlete to coach is 1:8 or better.

The Club:
The Wentworth Ski Racing Club (WSRC) is a not-for-profit organization and is completely separate from Wentworth “The Hill”.

The Club is run by an elected volunteer Board of Directors, which directs activities on and off snow. All families who enroll children in our programs are required to become members of WSRC. Members are entitled to participate in the operation of the Club by voting at the Annual General Meeting held each spring following ski season.
In order to run program activities for such a large number of young skiers, the Club must rely on parent volunteers. Without this volunteer effort the fees would increase.

WSRC wants you to become involved...Please be a Volunteer!
